The Valley, an unusual name for an Indian Restaurant? To me, Tynedale is The Valley. Over two decades ago, for the first time, a friend brought me on a day visit to Corbridge. We wandered through the village and strolled along the riverbank. I fell in love with the place instantly.

I visited the area regularly ever since and had always dreamt of having a restaurant here.

In early 1991 I achieved my ambition by opening my Indian restaurant which I named after the beautiful Tyne Valley. The dream had come true. Since opening, The Valley has gone from strength to strength.

Our world-renowned "Passage to India" train service has brought many thousands of visitors to the historic Old Station House in Corbridge.

After the great success of The Valley, we were fortunate to find another old station, this time in Jesmond, Newcastle which we occupied in the third month of 1997. The railway carriage which is part of the restaurant was originally built as a saloon for wealthy families to hire for their journeys. It was numbered 397 when it was built for the Great Northern Railway at Doncaster in 1912, The coincidence of the date and the number and the railway link inspired me to name this restaurant The Valley Junction 397.

Since the third month of 2001 we have occupied another prestigious site and opened our third restaurant. Overlooking the ancient marketplace and right next to the historic Abbey this is a very special restaurant in the heart of Hexham. We were very honoured when a friend and a regular customer to the Valley family, Mrs Robertson, named the restaurant "The Valley Connection 301".
